Paul is a man seemingly lacking a strong sense of self-confidence. He has a great sense of humor, which at times, masks his fears regarding the rigors of the military. During boot camp, his comic retorts often break the tension of the Drill Instructor's rhetoric. Paul is a huge football fan and roots for all Chicago sports teams including the Bears, the Blackhawks, the Bulls, and the Cubs.
