Forced to give up his dream of joining the woman he loves on one of the first colonization missions in space, a young man joins the Space Academy. When the colony is attacked by heretofore unknown aliens, he and a cadre of fresh cadets are sent to fight the enemy, which only serves to further his personal quest to find his betrothed.
